It is tough to imagine Indian cuisine without cottage cheese or paneer. If the non-vegetarians have their ever-so-versatile chicken, then vegetarians have for long taken pride in their most beloved 'paneer' which can blend in any dry or gravy preparation. There are many health benefits in consuming paneer. I will list out a few.
It is rich in proteins and also strengthens bones and teeth. Cottage cheese is packed with magnesium which helps in maintaining blood sugar levels. It also has phosphorous which along with magnesium aids in digestion along with preventing constipation. Paneer is also packed with linoleic acid (a fatty acid) which increases the fat burning process in your body.
Well lets see how to make a Paneer recipe that feels like eating we are eating a juicy KFC chicken. Kurkure paneer is very easy to make and can be made in just 5 mins. If you have any sudden guests and you wanna impress them, then I recommend this dish. This is a versatile dish and can be eaten as evening snacks, morning snacks or as a side dish. The end product is awesome, its very crispy and crunchy. Making the recipe is easy and simple. I will try to explain it step by step.
Ingredients are :
1) Paneer - 200 gms
2) Corn flour - 1/4 cup
3) Maida - 1/4 cup
4) Kashmiri Red chilly powder - 1 table spoon
5) Pepper powder - 1/2 tea spoon
6) Chat masala - 1 table spoon
7) Garam masala - 1/2 tea spoon
8) Ginger garlic paste - 1 tea spoon
9) Lemon juice - 1/2 tea spoon
10) Salt - to taste
11) Oil - as required
Preparation Method
First we have to prepare batter for that add 1/4 cup Corn Flour, 1/4 cup Maida, 1 table spoon Kashmiri red chilli powder , 1/2 tea spoon Pepper powder, 1 table spoon Chat masala, 1/2 tea spoon Garam masala , 1 tea spoon Ginger garlic paste, 1/2 tea spoon Lemon juice and a little salt to a bowl. Mix all ingredients well after adding water to get a semi liquid consistency.(You can watch the consistency in the video above)
Now cut the paneer into cube blocks and dip in the prepared batter. Make sure to coat the liquid on all sides of paneer and then dip into Oats which is taken in a bowl. Oats will give the paneer a crunchy texture. So make sure that Oats stick to all sides of paneer evenly. This step is important and do it very carefully. After that keep paneer aside for 1 minute for it to set.
After 1 minute fry paneer for 2 to 3 minute in hot oil. I am using sunflower oil here. You can use any oil except mustard and coconut oil as it will give a peculiar flavour to the dish. (You can see how I fry in the video above) This step should be done in high flame because you don't want the paneer to absorb oil. It will change the taste of the dish. You will see the the color and texture of paneer gradually changing. Take it out when it turns golden brown.
Now enjoy the dish with tomato sauce (if you want to) and eat to your hearts content...
