Chicken Manchurian recipe has become famous. It can be made very fast and is very tasty when eaten with Parathas. Did you know chicken mancurian is a dish born out of cultural integration between India and China. The origin of the dish can be traced back to Nelson Wang , a Chineese immigrant, invented this dish whilst living in India.
Today I will share a homemade recipe for Chicken Manchurian.
There are two steps in preparing Chicken Manchurian. First we have to marinate chicken and fry it. Second step is making Chicken Manchurian gravy. So lets see the ingredients and the way to make the dish
- Chicken Marination Ingredients
- Boneless chicken - 250 grams
- Corn flour - 3 table spoon
- Kashmiri Red chilly powder - 1/8 tsp
- Pepper power - 1/2 tsp
- Egg - 1 nos
- Salt - to taste
- Maida - 3 tbsp
- Chicken Manchurian gravy Ingredients
- Roughly chopped Onion - 1 nos
- Roughly chopped green capsicum - 1/4 cup
- Finely chopped Ginger - 1 inch long
- Finely chopped garlic - 5 to 6 cloves
- Finely chopped green chilly - 2 nos
- Finely copped Cabbage - 1/4 cup
- Tomato sauce - 2 tbsp
- Soya sauce - 1 tbsp
- Red chilly sauce - 2 tbsp
- Pepper powder - 1/4 tbsp
- Salt - to taste
- Water - 1 cup
- Cornflour slurry - 1 tbsp corn flour + 3 tbsp water
Preparation Method
- Marinate the chicken by mixing well with all the ingredients given above and keep in fridge for 30 minutes.
- After 30 mins. deep fry marinated chicken in medium flame. Then keep it aside.
- Then to a different kadai add 1–2 tbsp oil and add garlic, ginger and green chilly and saute for 1–2 mins in high flame.
- Then add onion and saute for 1 min. Afterwards add capsicum and cabbage and saute or 6–7 mins. Let it cook.
- Then add soya sauce , red chilly sauce and tomato sauce to the kadai and mix well for 1 min. Afterwards add 1 cup of water. When the water boils add salt and pepper powder. Mix well and then add corn flour slurry to thicken the gravy
- After mixing well add fried chicken and mix well.
Now enjoy the dish…..
